John Askey – draw with Salford feels like a loss
Port Vale manager John Askey says the 1-1 away draw with Salford City “feels like a loss.”
The Valiants took an 82nd minute lead through sub Richie Bennett only for the home side to snatch a draw with a late equaliser.
However, Vale created chances throughout the game and Askey felt that the side could have taken home all three points.
It feels like a loss at the moment, conceding right at the death…
Askey told the media: “It feels like a loss at the moment, conceding right at the death.
“We had chances when we were 1-0 up to go and win it, but I am just disappointed for the players and the supporters because I thought we did enough to win.
“It was a little bit of luck. Monty had one in the first minute and then in second half Monty had one that hit someone on the line. But there were numerous chances. Even at the end with Richie if he lifts it, it is a goal.
“I wish I was saying we’d won three or four because we had enough chances to do so.”
