Port Vale midfielder Dan Trickett-Smith set to be loaned out
The Sentinel is reporting that Port Vale midfielder Dan Trickett-Smith is set to be loaned out.
The former Leek Town player was signed by former owner Norman Smurthwaite in January 2018 and spent the remainder of last season on loan at his former club.
Trickett-Smith has been involved in Vale’s friendlies this summer but according to manager John Askey: “Dan was playing for Leek Town which is obviously quite a few divisions below us. Ideally, if we can get Dan out playing at a higher level than Leek, that will help him to improve.
“He has done quite well for us in pre-season but at the moment he is not featuring so we need to get him out on loan. He is not a 21 year old or anything, he is 23/24 so he needs to go and play at a slightly higher level and see how he does. Hopefully when he comes back he will be ready to go for us.”
