John Askey says Port Vale duo were rested as a precaution
Port Vale manager John Askey has explained the absence of James Gibbons and David Worrall from the friendly game against Leek Town.
The pair both missed Saturday’s 2-1 win by the Valiants.
Askey told the Sentinel: “David Worrall and James Gibbons were having an injection. It is just they have ongoing injuries. This will enable them to settle down and play the rest of the season hopefully pain free. So, they will be fine.
“It was a good opportunity to miss this game and give them two days off for the injection to work. So they will be fine.”
