Club hail “unbelievable” signing of former Port Vale man
National League North side Chester FC have announced the signing of former Port Vale striker Danny Elliott.
Elliott was signed by Port Vale in January from the Spanish lower league club San Cristobal and made seven appearances for the club before being released at the end of the season.
Chester co-manager Anthony Johnson told the local press: “He’s going to be an unbelievable signing for us. You’ve probably got George Waring and Akwasi sitting in the changing room thinking ‘we’ve got to be right at it’.”
“He’s another lad who’s been courted by League clubs in trials etc. He loved being in with us last week, loved playing a part in the game and obviously scored a cracker.
“I think the vital ingredient that he has got is raw pace. He offers that run in behind that we haven’t had. With George being your old school target man, Duds being your ten and Akwasi being a typical nine, so we’ve got someone who is totally different to any other player now. He is going to offer us a different dynamic.”
