Are Port Vale set to sign Alex Hurst?
Port Vale are reportedly watching Bradford Park Avenue midfielder Alex Hurst with a view to a permanent deal.
The teenager has trained with Vale’s squad and has played in several summer friendlies for the Valiants.
Manager John Askey has been impressed and he told BBC Radio Stoke: “Alex has been playing for Bradford Park Avenue. He is only 19 and when we have seen him play he has done really well.
“He has fitted in with the players. When I first brought him in, the other players were asking ‘who is this lad, he looks good.’
“That s always a good sign. So, with Alex, if we sign him, we would leave him at Bradford Park Avenue for six months so he keeps playing men’s football, and get him to train with us. He is somebody who we think, with a bit of luck, we could develop and he could be a good player for us.”
