Port Vale are linked with former Rotherham United striker
Port Vale are one of a host of clubs rumoured to be interested in signing former Rotherham United striker David Ball.
The Valiants have released Dior Angus, Danny Elliott and Dan Turner and are in the hunt for at least one more forward.
The Express and Star newspaper reports that Walsall and AFC Wimbledon are rivalling Port Vale for the striker’s signature. Elsewhere, Shrewsbury and Ball’s former club Fleetwood are also reported to have shown interest in the free agent.
29 year-old Ball was released by Rotherham at the end of the season. The striker rose to prominence under Graham Alexander at Fleetwood Town where he scored 49 goals in 209 games.
He was loaned out to Bradford City by Rotherham United last season where he scored seven goals in 42 appearances in League One.
