Alan Woolfall in action
Striker Alan Woolfall played for Skelmersdale United before joining Bury in 1974. He scored 14 goals in 68 appearances for the Shakers before signing for Port Vale in August 1979. He had a two-year spell with the Valiants but was only an occasional starter making 21 appearances and scoring four goals. He was given a free transfer in 1981 and joined non-league side Marine. This game was a home match against Stockport County on September 29th 1980. It finished as a 1-2 loss for Vale (Neville Chamberlain scoring) and was played in front of a crowd of 3,480.
