Rival clubs eye potential Port Vale transfer target
Former Port Vale loanee Adam Crookes is wanted by two rival League Two clubs, his agent has revealed.
Crookes enjoyed a successful loan spell at Vale Park and manager John Askey expressed an interest in signing the defender on a permanent basis.
Crookes was released by parent club Nottingham Forest at the end of the season which has increased speculation that the Valiants will make an offer for the youngster.
However, Crookes’ agent Phil Sproson, a former Port Vale legend, told the Sentinel newspaper: “Since the end of the season, once Nottingham Forest made the decision that Adam was going to be released on a free, a couple of other clubs have shown interest.
“There is another concrete offer, plus Port Vale’s offer and another club are wanting to meet Adam next week to show him around.”
