Port Vale target Adam Crookes is released by Nottingham Forest
Defender Adam Crookes has been released by Championship side Nottingham Forest.
Crookes has had an impressive loan spell with the Valiants and manager John Askey has expressed an interest in a permanent deal for the 22 year-old.
Left-sided defender Crookes made nineteen appearances for the club since arriving on loan during the January transfer window.
Crookes never made a senior appearance for Forest but he did play for both Lincoln City and Guiseley on loan prior to joining the Valiants.
Askey has expressed an interest in both Crookes and fellow loanee Mitch Clark who was recently released by Aston Villa.

I believe at best Adam Crookes is a average defender however he offers nothing going forward and I don’t recall him putting in any crosses of note. I would hope the way forward is attacking full backs which both Mitch Clark and Gibbons provide.
