Port Vale player of the year Scott Brown has called Carol and Kevin Shanahan “fantastic people” after he extended his deal at the club.
The Shanahans, who own adjoining business Synectics Solutions, are the front-runners to take over the club in the coming days.

Goalkeeper Brown, who has had an outstanding season, told the Stoke Sentinel newspaper: “They are fantastic people and they have Port Vale running through their blood. They just want the best for the football club. You only have to look at the business over the road to see how successfully run that is, hopefully that can be this football club going forward.
“They are Vale fans through and through and they are really good, honest, humble people, from speaking to them.
“I am really looking forward to working with them.”
