Port Vale manager says home win has been coming
Port Vale manager John Askey told the media he was delighted that the Valiants built on their performance against Notts County.
Vale followed up their goalless draw at Meadow Lane with a long-awaited home win, beating Mansfield Town 2-1 at Vale Park.
I just don’t know what to do now because I am not used to winning!
Askey told the media: I thought right from the off we played really well. It’s been coming and I am really pleased that we got a result. It is the way we won as well, it wasn’t a fortuitous win, we could have scored more.
“I just don’t know what to do now because I am not used to winning!
“The players have been working really hard and I thought their fitness showed, they never stopped running all game and put them under a lot of pressure.”
