Port Vale winger says clash with Morecambe is a massive game
Port Vale’s Ben Whitfield says that the player realise that the home game against Morecambe is a huge game for the club.
The match is manager John Askey’s first home game in charge and he needs to address worrying home form which has seen Vale edge closer to the League Two drop zone.
I think Saturday is a massive game. We were talking about Chesterfield last year and that was a huge game. This one again is right up there…
Whitfield told the media: “I think Saturday is a massive game. We were talking about Chesterfield last year and that was a huge game. This one again is right up there.”
The forward says he is recovered from injury and looking to force his way back into first-team action. He added: “I have been out for a few weeks with my knee ligament but it has all healed now and it was good to be back.
“I feel good and and hopefully now I can get myself in the team and get a good run of games under my belt.”
