Port Vale defender admits Tranmere clash is a massive game
James Gibbons says that the side has to “pick up results on the pitch” as they prepare to take on Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday evening.
The defender has forced his way back into the first-team in recent weeks but like the rest of the team, Gibbons is desperate to reverse the side’s form.
All we’ve got to do is pick up results on the pitch and at the end of the day, that’s what is going to make the fans happy…
Gibbons told the official Port Vale website: “It’s a massive game, but for us, it’s come at a good time because whenever you lose a game of football it’s always good to go straight into a game.
“We’ve had a bit of preparation today and hopefully we can get something from the game tomorrow.
“Any fan is going to be concerned when you’re not picking up results, but like I said, you can’t keep saying ‘we’re playing well, we’re doing this, we’re doing that’, you can’t afford to keep saying that.
“All we’ve got to do is pick up results on the pitch and at the end of the day, that’s what is going to make the fans happy.”
