John Askey says he would have brought Dior Angus back from loan
Talking on a radio phone-in, Port Vale manager John Askey says he would have brought on loan striker Dior Angus back to the club.
After a successful spell at Nuneaton, Angus was rapidly sent on loan to Barrow – a move which makes him unavailable for Vale selection until the end of the season.
With Vale struggling for goals, Askey told BBC Radio Stoke: “It’s one who I tried to get back but he can’t come back with the deal he’s got with Barrow. He’s been playing well for Barrow and scoring goals. He’s unavailable now until the end of the season.
“I was aware of him and know he’s doing well and starting to score goals. If someone’s doing that at just one level below, we were obviously interested in bringing him back.”
