Port Vale manager Neil Aspin has indicated that striker Danny Elliott will sign for the club – but the youngster is not set to immediately make the first-team.
Elliott was a member of Nottingham Forest’s academy before moving to play football in the United States and then having a spell with San Cristobal in Spain.
Manager Aspin confirmed: “We can’t put our future in the hands of a lad who has just come on trial. But he has done enough in the trial to warrant giving him a chance and that is all it is.
“We need to get more experienced players in, people who have played at this level and that is what we will be trying to do, but everybody else is trying to do the same.”
