Double injury blow for Port Vale
Port Vale suffered injuries to two influential players during their 3-0 home defeat to Colchester United.
Top scorer Tom Pope left the pitch after suffering a hamstring injury.
Loanee Mitchell Clark, the Aston Villa defender, was also replaced after suffering a calf injury.
The loss of both players could be a huge blow to Vale’s hopes of escaping the League Two drop zone.
Manager Neil Aspin told the media: “When things are going against you, they certainly do go against you. Popey has got a problem with his hamstring so we will have to see how long that takes to settle down. Mitch Clark went off with his calf.”
