Port Vale keeper: we’re both pleased and disappointed with a point
Scott Brown commented “when you’re 2-1 down in the 90th minute, you’ve got to be pleased with a point” but adds that “we could’ve gone 2-0 up.”
The veteran Vale goalkeeper says the Valiants will take negatives and positives from the home draw.
We’re pleased and disappointed at the same time. We were 1-0 up and we could’ve gone 2-0 up, but it’s a point…
Brown told the official Port Vale website: “Cheltenham are a good team and the conditions were difficult. Since their new manager has come in they’ve played some really good football and they’ve got some top players, so we knew it was going to be tough.
“We’re pleased and disappointed at the same time. We were 1-0 up and we could’ve gone 2-0 up, but it’s a point. We spoke about the conditions at Morecambe last weekend, perhaps playing with the wind to get a lead so we could defend it second-half.
“Maybe if we had doubled our lead with Luke Hannant’s chance we would’ve had all three points, but we still shouldn’t a poor goal like we did in the second half. It’s something to work on and we will keep focusing on it – we will get better.
“You can look at it either way, but when you’re 2-1 down in the 90th minute, you’ve got to be pleased with a point.”
