Local media says Port Vale stadium was damaged during Stoke City U21 game
Local press reports and social media posts suggest several incidents of damage to the Vale Park stadium following the Checkatrade Trophy game against Stoke City U21.
Stoke were backed by a large contingent of away fans and while the majority were blameless, a small minority were seen throwing objects at Police, Vale fans and Vale players throughout the game.
Some of the incidents were clearly visible during play and OVF hopes that CCTV will help to identify the perpetrators.
Among the objects thrown were bottles, flares and parts of the Hamil Road stand seats.
The Sentinel newspaper reports that damage to the Vale Park stadium includes:
- Broken windows at the Port Vale pub
- Toilets damaged
- Flares, bottles and seats thrown from the away stand
The report by the Sentinel also appears to be backed up by social media:
