Port Vale manager: there is little we can do if star wants to leave
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin is keeping his fingers crossed that clubs do not make a move for loan star Mitch Clark in the January transfer window.
Aston Villa defender Clark has been a resounding success and is on loan with Vale until the end of the season. However, the young defender could leave if a big club makes a move for him in January.
If a club from a higher league comes in for him and the lad wanted to go, and his agent was pushing for him to go, then there would be little we could do…
Aspin told the media: “You could be asking me the same thing up until the last week of January. If a club from a higher league comes in for him and the lad wanted to go, and his agent was pushing for him to go, then there would be little we could do.
“All I will say is that he has enjoyed it while he has been here. He has been a consistent performer and is still learning.”
Clark was scouted by Port Vale football advisor John Rudge and joined the club in August 2018. He has made nineteen appearances this season.
