Port Vale goal hero says brace will boost his confidence
Cristian Montano says that his brace against Yeovil Town will “do a world of good for my confidence.”
Montano, who has been subject of criticism for his recent performances, scored twice in the 3-0 win on Tuesday evening.

He told the official Port Vale website: “It will do a world of good for my confidence. It’s what I’m capable of doing if I play higher up and I’m happy with the three points today.
“We kept a clean sheet as well and every player worked hard, we understood what we were doing, we were there for each other and the communication between all of us was very good.
“We’re happy to get two goals from open play today as we’ve not been getting enough and for myself I’m happy to get two goals today.
“We worked the ball quite well for both goals to be fair down the side of them and I made two late runs into the box and luckily both of them saw my run and fed me because I didn’t think they did!
“It’s the understanding we’ve got – I’m quite close with both of them. With Luke, when I’ve played last season with him down the left.
“With Manny, obviously we’ve both been injured, we’ve spoken a lot and we know what we want from each other when we play. If I play on his side, I tell him what I want when he’s got the ball and what kind of run I will make and today it worked out quite well.”
