Happy manager says Port Vale could have scored six or seven…
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin was delighted with the 3-0 win over Yeovil on Tuesday evening and said the team could have scored more.
Vale won 3-0 thanks to a double from Cristian Montano and a first league goal for Connell Rawlinson.
I was so encouraged because we scored three but I thought we could have scored six or seven…
Aspin commented: “I think the players let themselves down on Saturday and I said that. I feel that we are better than we showed then. But I have had to have a look at various things because until tonight we weren’t scoring any goals away from home and certainly we didn’t look a threat.
“We spent a bit of time on Monday, changed the shape and changed a few things in our general play that I have not been happy with.
“But it is all right me changing it, it is up to the players to do it out on the pitch and they did that. I thought they were excellent, started the game really well, and this time when we started well, we got in front, and that seemed to give them confidence. I thought we looked really good so I am really pleased with them.”
“The stats will tell you that when we concede first we invariably lose the game, so it is important.
“When you are not scoring goals then it makes it doubly difficult. But I was so encouraged because we scored three but I thought we could have scored six or seven.”
