Port Vale keeper – that was embarrassing, we apologise and we deserved the boos
Port Vale goalkeeper Scott Brown has pulled no punches in his assessment of Port Vale’s 6-2 thrashing by Lincoln City at Vale Park.
Vale saw another heavy defeat by Lincoln on home soil this season with some awful defending allowed the visitors numerous chances through set-pieces.
We deserved to get booed off at half-time and we deserved to get booed off at full-time…
Brown told the media: “If you are not embarrassed by that then you are not going to be embarrassed by anything. We said in the first-half we would slow it down and stay in the game , kicking into the wind.
“But it is difficult when you are 1-0 down after 90 seconds, your game plan goes out of the window… then two and three right on half-time and it is a really difficult game.
“But you can’t concede off five set plays and expect to get anything out if the game. We know that is their main threat and they scored off five off them.
“They are not even as big as they were last year. We can only apologise to the fans.
“We deserved to get booed off at half-time and we deserved to get booed off at full-time.”
