I cannot fault players for their effort says Port Vale manager

Port Vale manager Neil Aspin says “I can’t fault the players for their effort and commitment” after their recorded their fourth clean sheet in a row with a 1-0 win over Bury.

Vale have proven a point after losing 6-2 at home to Lincoln with an unbeaten run of four games and without conceeding a single goal.

Regardless of anything else, I can’t fault the players for their effort and commitment because I thought they have been excellent…

After the game manager Neil Aspin said: “They have shown fight, determination and they have done that now on three occasions – because they have have had three difficult games.

“If the players do that for me then I am happy. Of course in time we need to improve our quality, you always need to improve the squad, but I can’t ask for any more than what the players have done over the last three games.”

“I have seen them play this season and spoken to a couple of other managers and I do rate them very highly. They have some good players and strength in depth, so we were up against a really good team and had to work exceptionally hard if we were going to get a result.

“Regardless of anything else, I can’t fault the players for their effort and commitment because I thought they have been excellent.”
