Welcome to our prediction panel feature. Each week father and son duo Rob and Fred will pit their wits against a succession of OVF forum regulars.
About the predictors
Rob founded OVF over twenty years ago and updates the blog on this site. Rob says he is an “absolutely hopeless” predictor. His son Fred is 13 and has been going to see Vale for a few years now. He hopes to “humiliate my dad as per usual.”
This time we’re asking everyone for their prediction for the Cambridge United game…
Rob
Port Vale 1-0 Crawley Town
It’s early days yet so despite two awful results in a row, I think Vale will bounce back with a narrow victory over Crawley Town. I reckon it could be Miller time again (as new man Ricky Miller endears himself to the Vale crowd with another superb strike)
Fred
Port Vale 2-0 Crawley Town
Not much to add but a gut instinct Vale will win and keep a cleansheet.
This week the duo take on the forum legend that is Aussie Rules…
Aussie Rules
Port Vale 2-1 Crawley Town
Although we’ve been badly wounded in our last two games I’m hoping the ‘Lads restore some pride in themselves – and us, of course – with a narrow win over Crawley Town.
How they fared
After last week’s result, the running league table looks like this:
| Panelist | Correct scores | Correct results | TOTAL |
| Rob | 0 | 1 | 5 |
| Fred | 0 | 1 | 5 |
| Forum users | 0 | 1 | 5 |
