Hannant: first-half performance wasn’t good enough
Goalscorer Luke Hannant says the team “didn’t come out of the traps quick enough” in the 2-1 defeat to Carlisle.
Hannant scored a free-kick in an improved second-half display but told the official Port Vale website: “First-half, we didn’t come out the traps quick enough. We know we wasn’t good enough in the first-half and we were inviting a lot of pressure.
“Second-half we fared a lot better. We got down the flanks quicker and put a good few balls into the box. But we’ve started too late in the game and in the end we’ve paid for it.”
