Aspin pays credit to Colchester and says Vale deserved nothing
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin has praised opponents Colchester United after Vale lost 2-0 on Saturday.
Colchester secured an easy win thanks to goals from Senior and Jackson.
I thought they were very good, caused us a lot of problems and deservedly won the game…
The Valiants were second-best for the whole game and Aspin commented afterwards: “Firstly, I would like to give credit to the opposition. I thought they were very good, caused us a lot of problems and deservedly won the game.
“Instead of starting by saying that we were very poor, I think sometimes managers don’t give credit to the opposition and I thought Colchester thoroughly deserved the win.
“We did well last week against Cambridge but we weren’t anywhere near like that today. If we are going to pick up points we have to be like we were last week, much better than we were today.”
