Where have Vale’s released and listed players ended up?
What have Port Vale’s released and transfer-listed players been doing so far this summer?
Here is a brief update:
Anton Forrester (released) – In a surprising move, the strike is on trial at League One Sunderland
Ryan Boot (released) – The goalkeeper has moved to Solihull Moors on a one-year deal.
Callum Howe (transfer-listed) – The defender moved to Harrogate Town, newly promoted to the National League.
Rob Lainton (transfer-listed) – The keeper is on loan for the season at Wrexham but did not feature in their first friendly game.
Harry Middleton (released) – The midfielder is on trial at Hartlepool United and scored in a friendly at the weekend.
Joe Slinn (released) – The keeper has lined-up for Rushall Athletic, for whom he had a spell on loan, in a friendly game against Walsall
Tyrone Barnett (transfer-listed) – The striker appeared as a defender for Vale in a friendly against Redditch on Friday
Joe Davis (transfer-listed) – The defender also appeared for Vale in a friendly against Redditch on Friday
Kjell Knops (released) – Invited to train with the Valiants, due to family issues the left-back has instead left the country to seek clubs in his native Holland.
Remie Streete (released) – OK, this is a bit of a cheat as he left last summer but the former Valiant is fit again after a long injury battle and came on as a sub for Wimbledon in an impressive 4-2 friendly win over Reading.
There is no news so far on the whereabouts of Luke Dennis, Graham Kelly, Charlie Walford, Chris Regis and Billy Reeves (all of whom were released).
Updated on 11/7/18 to account for Forrester’s trial.
