Former Valiants: winger makes switch to Scottish Premiership
Former Port Vale winger Sam Kelly has moved to the Scottish Premiership after leaving League Two rivals Grimsby Town.
Kelly agreed a termination of his contract earlier this week and has now been announced as one of five Hamilton Academicals signings.
Kelly said: “I’ve heard a lot about the club and I’m very pleased to be here.”
Manager Martin Canning said: ‘”We’re delighted to be able to bring Sam to the club. We are well aware we need to add to our creative and attacking options in midfield and Sam fits the bill.
‘”He’s played a good number of first team games in the Football League down South and we think, at 24, he’s one who has the attributes to succeed in the Scottish Premiership.”
Kelly made 57 appearances for the Valiants between 2015 and 2017 scoring three times.
