Claim: former Vale defender Streete is fit and looking for new club
A website claims that former Port Vale defender Remie Streete is fit again and looking to join a new club.
Streete left Vale under freedom of contract in the summer of 2017. At the time it was claimed that the Valiants were unable to afford to to offer a new contract on his current terms.
The central defender had been one of the club’s better players so it was somewhat surprising when Streete failed to find a club for the whole of last season.
However, it has now emerged that what was thought to be a minor knee injury turned out to be a long-term injury requiring knee surgery and forcing him to miss all of last season.
According to HITC Sport, Streete has been working hard on his fitness after knee surgery and is now keen to fix himself up with a new club as he looks to make up for lost time in his career.
The defender was linked with potential moves to Wigan and Shrewsbury before the extent of his injury became clear.
