Match report: Forest Green Rovers 1-0 Port Vale
Port Vale suffered a poor away defeat against relegation threatened Forest Green Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
Manager Neil Aspin made two changes bringing in James Gibbons and David Worrall while former Valiants Lee Collins and Gavin Gunning lined up for the home side.
In a dour opening half, chances were few and far between with Vale having chances for Whitfield and Harness while Doidge tested out Ryan Boot.
At the interval, Whitfield was replaced by Montano but early in the second period the visitors made the decisive move when the experienced Reuben Reid’s strike gave them a 1-0 advantage on the hour mark.
Aspin brought on Tyrone Barnett and new signing Dior Angus but the Valiants were unable to build up any pressure as they succumbed to a poor away defeat.
