“Disappointed” Brabin says Gavin Gunning is now a free agent
Port Vale assistant manager Gary Brabin says that the club have so far failed to agree a new contract with defender Gavin Gunning.
Brabin told BBC Radio Stoke that he was “disappointed” that a deal had not been done but that the club were still keen to agree terms with the defender.
Gunning has been a regular in the defence since signing in the summer.
Last month manager Neil Aspin said he was keen to get the Irishman to commit to a new deal but the two sides have yet to agree terms.
Gunning’s absence for the match against Notts County would have been unavoidable as he is currently injured but the Valiants will be keen to see if any deal can be done as soon as possible.
