Veteran defender Adam Yates injured in reserves win
Port Vale defender Adam Yates spent the night in hospital after picking up a head injury during Vale reserves’ win over Morecambe.
The 34 year old was forced off after an accidental collision with Vale keeper Sam Hornby as they both chased a ball.
Yates suffered a heavy blow to his face and doctors are keeping him in hospital as they assess the extent of the damage. He was replaced by Tyrone Barnett who switched to a central defensive role.
The reserves won the game 4-2 thanks to goals from Dan Turner, Anton Forrester, Rekeil Pyke and Harry Benns.
