Forrester reveals injury fears and praises Aspin for believing in him
Fit again forward Anton Forrester admits he was “scared” of sustaining another injury but says he is now strong enough to cope.
The striker also paid tribute to manager Neil Aspin for having belief in his abilities.
I just need a goal and then I’ll go on a run and start scoring again…
Forrester told the official Port Vale website: “Sometimes I’m scared that I will break down again so it’s on my mind, but hopefully I can get beyond that. I know I’m strong enough to get through it.
“I just need a goal and then I’ll go on a run and start scoring again.
“Neil Aspin didn’t get to see me when he first came in, but he’s been good with me and he has told me that he believes in me so it’s great when a manager does that.
“We had a meeting and it was reassuring, to know that he is looking at me, that’s what I needed really.”
