Following on from his part in Leek’s club record away win, Vale midfielder Mike Calveley was in the line-up as Leek Town served up a cup giantkilling.
The midfielder started as Leek beat Kettering 3-2 in the FA Trophy this weekend. The giantkilling caused manager Neil Baker to comment “That was a terrific result for the lads – I was delighted for them.”
The Vale goalkeeper was in goal as Stalybridge Celtic drew 0-0 with Prescot Cables in the FA Trophy. There will now be a replay between the two sides.
The left-back played as Bradford lost 2-1 to Salford City in a league clash. The match was overshadowed by a bizarre red card as Salford keeper Max Crocombe, decided to urinate behind his net. The incident was reported to the referee by a linesman, and the decision was made to dismiss Crocombe.
