Caretaker Chris Morgan hails positive reaction from Port Vale players
Joint caretaker Chris Morgan says that the “lads have been positive” as the squad prepares for its first game since the departure of manager Michael Brown.
We think we have got a good squad of players and we should be in a better position than what we are…
Morgan and David Kelly will take charge of the first-team and Morgan told the official Port Vale website: “The players are far, far better than where they are positioned right now.
“We spoke all through pre-season about it and we genuinely feel that we have a group that could compete at League One level, never mind League Two.
“Some people may doubt that, but that’s what we feel. For one reason or another, results haven’t been as good as expected.
“Me and Ned have been asked to take the team short-term, to prepare them and get them ready for Yeovil.
“That’s what we are going to do. We think we have got a good squad of players and we should be in a better position than what we are.
“The lads have been positive, they have responded to the work we’ve been doing on the training ground and they are all now looking forward to Saturday.”
