Brown defiant as sorry Vale slump to bottom of the League
Manager Michael Brown says he can still turn Vale’s fortunes around despite an appalling start to the season.
Vale went bottom of the Football League after defeat to Coventry City and Brown told the media: We are working very hard. “We have changed the whole squad and we keep saying it. I don’t think we are a million miles away with regards to other teams at this level, although they are getting the results which is the difference.
We would have liked to have created more today but we certainly had enough to score a goal…
“We understand it is a results business, but we certainly didn’t get blown away against this Coventry team today.
“It’s not going in the net so somebody has to create something different. It was Tyrone’s first game back there and we lost Pyke who can finish. Dan Turner has a couple of goals so we are not really finding the net and the problem is you have got to or you don’t win football games. Ultimately we are getting chances and not putting them away.
“We would have liked to have created more today but we certainly had enough to score a goal. Towards the end we were pushing more and more and had a couple of chances. A bit more composure was the key. People are getting some good opportunities and maybe not taking that extra touch or extra pass.”
