The high number of released Vale players still without clubs
It’s unusual to see so many of the Vale squad who were released in the summer to be without clubs. Here is a list.
Note: please feel free to correct us if we have any of these players’ details wrong.
Remie Streete
Perhaps the most surprising name on this list, Streete was widely expected to move to a club in a higher division but is yet to make that move.
Chris Eagles
After Streete, the second most surprising name on this list. Eagles was a rare success story in the latter part of the season and that form looked to have earned him a deal elsewhere but he has yet to seal any deal.
Andre Bikey
Wanted by Michael Brown on a “pay as you play” basis, the experienced but injury-plagued defender is still without a club.
Jerome Thomas
Another injury-plagued veteran, when fit Thomas was a match for anyone in League One but has yet to find a new club.
Ryan Taylor
He flitted between the Potteries and the US and was reportedly in talks during the summer but the defender/midfielder is still clubless.
Gezim Shalaj
Somewhat surprisingly, the club announced they were “in talks” with the winger who barely featured last season but he left in the summer and is yet to agree a deal elsewhere.
Rigino Cicilia
The striker left by mutual consent in the summer but has yet to find a new employer.
Chris Mbamba
Rarely seen in a Vale player, the winger reportedly on a huge contract by League One standards is without a club.
Kiko
The left-back impressed in spells last season but was released by Michael Brown. He is yet another player to not yet have a new club.
Paulo Tavares
You get the idea by now… the veteran midfielder is also still clubless.
Sebastien Amoros
The French youngster left in the summer and is yet to sign for another football side.
Quentin Pereira
The French midfielder is also without a club.
And two who have found a club…
- Scott Tanser – now playing for SPL side St Johnstone
- Deniz Mehmet – another player to move to Scotland he plays for Dundee Utd
