According to media reports, three Championship clubs are prepared to spend around £8m on former Vale striker Jordan Hugill.
The clubs are reportedly Leeds United, Wolves and Reading.
Hugill was plucked from obscurity by the Valiants in 2013 and after a prolific loan spell at Gateshead was dramatically plunged into first-team action. An instant success, he controversially turned down a new contract offer to join Preston in 2014.
Hugill’s transfer fee was undisclosed but includes a sell-on fee and Vale will therefore be hoping for a hefty settlement should the striker now move on.
