New signing Stobbs says Chris Morgan was instrumental in his move
Loan signing Jack Stobbs says that Port Vale coach Chris Morgan notified him of the club’s interest at the end of last season.
Former Sheff Utd player and coach Morgan watched the player at the end of last season and told the winger of the club’s interest.
Stobbs told the official Port Vale website: “It originally came about at the end of the last season, when I was playing in the final of the play-offs, and I know that Chris Morgan came to watch and said that they were showing a bit of interest. Then, since pre-season, it has took a lot longer to get going than expected but obviously I am glad to be here now.”
Talking about his ambitions Stobbs added: “I’ll be looking straight away for my first start, first goal and things I need to get to push on.
“To get in the squad and start every week. I’ll be looking to provide assists, get crosses into the box and goals for myself as well.
It is nice to come in and feel comfortable and knowing a few of the lads helps and gives me someone to talk to.
It is always nerve-wracking on your first day especially when you’ve always been at one club. But I had a good training session on my first morning and I am feeling comfortable.”
