Rekeil Pyke on target again as Vale draw with Buxton

Loan striker Rekeil Pyke scored his sixth goal in three friendlies as Vale drew their match against Buxton.

Michael Brown included new signing Lawrie Wilson in the starting line-up but Vale trailed at the interval after Hardy swept the home side into the lead on 37 minutes.

Vale equalised on 54 minutes when Pyke scored from a Vale corner. The Valiants then made a host of changes in the second period including the introduction of trialists Billy Whitehouse and Michael Tonge.

However, Vale could not get the crucial second goal as it finished all-square on Saturday afternoon.

Vale: Lainton (Boot), Eardley (Yates), Kay (Tonge), De Freitas (c) (Calveley), Gunning (Gibbons, Dennis), Wilson (Whitehouse), Smith (Davis), Pugh (Reeves), Pope (Walford), Pyke, Montano (Kelly).
