Port Vale confirm re-signing of defender Joe Davis
Port Vale have confirmed that former youth team graduate Joe Davis has rejoined the club and signed a two-year deal.
Davis left the club in 2014 after turning down a contract offer but has rejoined after being released by Fleetwood.
A club statement confirmed:
We are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Joe Davis from Fleetwood Town on a two-year deal.
Joe makes his return to Vale, having departed the club three years ago to join Leicester City back in 2014.
The 23 year-old made 31 appearances for Vale, including 10 appearances during the 2012/13 promotion campaign under Micky Adams.
The following campaign, Joe had a spell on loan at Luton Town, playing in nine games, in which the Hatters were unbeaten, helping to boost their eventual 2013/14 title winning success.
The next season saw Davis depart Vale Park for Premier League side, Leicester City at 20 years of age.
After spending two years at the King Power Stadium, Joe joined Fleetwood Town, where he made 33 appearances at Highbury.
The defender will link up with his new team mates at the end of June when they return for pre-season ahead of the Sky Bet League Two campaign.
