Veteran Danny Pugh is first player to sign deal under Michael Brown

Experienced midfielder Danny Pugh has agreed a one-year deal with Port Vale, the club has revealed.

Pugh was signed from Blackpool in January and was a regular under Michael Brown.

A club statement says:

We are delighted to confirm that midfielder Danny Pugh has put pen to paper to extend his stay at Vale Park.

Pugh has signed a deal which will take him to the summer of 2018, with the option for the deal to be extended at next year.

Danny has been an ever present in the side since he joined on deadline day in January of this year.

Pugh made 13 appearances for Vale and added a vast amount of experience to the midfield.

The 34 year-old becomes the first player to commit his future to the Valiants next season, following the appointment of Michael Brown as manager.

Danny and the rest of the squad will now have a break, before meeting back up for the start of pre-season.
