Rumours: one keeper bid rejected, another on his way?
The rumours are certainly flying around Vale Park on deadline day with reports of a bid for one keeper rejected and another goalie reportedly set to join.
According to HITC Sport, Port Vale have had a bid for Leeds United goalkeeper Ross Turnbull rejected. The 32 year-old has had spells with Middlesbrough, Chelsea and Barnsley.
One unlikely signing that is being claimed as a “done deal” is that of Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi.
According to Tasnim News, the 28 year-old has “cancelled his contract with Portuguese club Maritimo following disagreements with the coach” and has “reached an agreement to join English club Port Vale.”
The authenticity of Tasnim News is uncertain and it certainly looks to be an unlikely signing on the surface but stranger things have happened in football…
