Rangers silent on Alnwick link as Michael Brown concedes he may leave
Glasgow Rangers manager Mark Warburton batted away questions about Rangers’ reported interest in Jak Alnwick.
Rangers have been linked with a £250,000 move for Alnwick. Vale have confirmed an approach by an unspecified club but chairman Norman Smurthwaite subsequently told the Scottish media that there was disagreement over the terms.
Alnwick played in Vale’s 3-2 defeat to Scunthorpe United but Vale caretaker manager Michael Brown said after the match that there was a “good chance” the keeper could leave.
However, when Warburton was asked about the link he told the Scottish media: “We never discuss our business. We are linked with so many players. Apparently, I have signed 17 players in the window. Let’s wait and see. When something is completed, then we’ll talk about it.”
