Remie Streete says there have been no contract talks with Vale
In-form defender Remie Streete says that the Valiants have not talked to him about signing a new contract.
Earlier this season, OVF highlighted that while fellow youngsters Jak Alnwick and Nathan Smith are under contract, Streete will be a free agent in the summer.
Streete’s form has led to some fans naming him as their player of the season but he told the media after the Charlton match that: “Nothing has been said. I have seven months left until the end of the season and I am just playing my football.”
However, it is understandable if Vale fans will be more concerned and worry that one of the club’s prized assets could leave. Streete is aged under 24 and so the club would be eligible for compensation but with (if it is a January move) his contract close to expiring or (if it is a summer a move) expired, Vale would probably receive only a token tribunal-set fee.
