Port Vale have released a statement that confirms that Anthony Grant will receive a lengthy ban after his sending-off against Fleetwood Town.
The player will serve a further five match suspension and he has been ordered to pay a £2,000 fine…
Grant was dismissed for a second yellow-card but he appeared to walk off with the matchball when dismissed and then returned to the pitch after the final whistle to argue with the referee.
Grant was handed an initial one-match ban but the club then confirmed that the midfielder had been charged by the FA.
A statement now confirms that the player has received an additional five match ban and a fine. The suspension means that Grant could be out of action until the Boxing Day fixture against Walsall.
