Jak Alnwick to lose his beard (and raise money for charity)
Port Vale keeper Jak Alnwick is to go clean shaven in order to raise money for the Movember Foundation.
A press release from Port Vale FC states:
In a month when lots of men are sporting facial hair in support of Movember Foundation, one Vale player intends going in the opposite direction.
Vale ‘keeper Jak Alnwick, who has never been seen at Vale park without his full beard and moustache will be ‘coming clean’ at the end of month, to raise money for charity.
The ‘keeper has chosen a charity that is close to his heart – The Movember Foundation – and he is looking for as many Vale fans as possible to donate a few quid to a good causes.
If you would like to donate, please go to http://mobro.co/portvale and give whatever you can afford.
There will also be a chance for the highest bidder in a silent auction held at Vale Park to start off the cut with a pair of scissors!
The silent auction will be held in the Exec boxes at our home games against Fleetwood Town and Oldham Athletic.
If you wish to place a bid, you can pick up an envelope from the main reception, write down your bid and leave it with us.
Make sure your envelope is handed in at the Club 5pm Friday 25th November, when they will be opened to reveal the highest bidder.
We will contact the highest bidder and they will get the honour (and publicity that goes with it) of trimming Jack’s beard with a pair of scissors ahead of the ‘big shave off’.
