Andy Smith hints that Sam Kelly will keep his place for cup tie
Port Vale coach Andy Smith has praised Sam Kelly after the winger made his first start of the season during Vale’s defeat to Bolton.
Kelly has been something of a forgotten man earlier this season – having not even been included in some squads. However, Smith felt he made an impact against Wanderers.

Smith told the official Port Vale website: “He did very well, he has been training very hard and he was probably our stand-out player today. He looked to get on the ball and cause them problems, so that was pleasing.”
Smith’s comments increase the chances of Kelly keeping his place in the starting line-up for the vital FA Cup game against Stevenage on Saturday.
