Ribeiro praises character of his Port Vale team
Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro praised his team’s character after they came from a goal down to beat Gillingham.
Ribeiro told the media after the game: “I spoke with the players at half-time and told them to go out and win the game. I said if we play high-tempo and pressure them and we can win this game.
In the second half the character of the players is fantastic…
“We played as a team. Sometimes in the first half, when someone was running with the ball, it wasn’t our pass and move play.
“I wanted to start the game the way we did the second half but sometimes it’s difficult and we don’t start well but in the second half the character of the players is fantastic.
“We made good movements and could have scored three or four goals. We are still winning at home which is fantastic for us.
“To keep this position in the top six is important. We going into every game wanting to win, we need to change away from home. “At home we win but away we need to start playing the same.”
