Rob Page won’t be the next Cardiff City boss
Cardiff City have named Paul Trollope as their new head coach putting an end to rumours that Port Vale manager Rob Page was to be appointed.
Page was linked to the job by the Sun tabloid but ironically Cardiff have instead appointed Page’s close friend and colleague in the Wales national team set-up, Paul Trollope.
The vacancy was created at the end of the season when manager Russell Slade moved up to a Director of Football role but Page had steadfastly denied any interest in the job.
After Vale’s final game of the season Page had told the media: “Cardiff City is my club so people will put two and two together but there is nothing in it and I am fully focused on trying to pick up these Port Vale players and rebuild.”
